THE VINEYARD, PHASE II- RE-ENTRY PLAN

MODEL CONCEPT

 

OBJECTIVE:  Empowering formerly incarcerated men and women to re-enter society.

Project:  The Vineyard. . .providing HOPE graduates respectable homes that enable them to continue their spiritual growth, seek employment, and reunite with their families.

 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 12 female and 12 male homes in respectable areas established over a period of 12 years.  Homes must be donated or bequeathed free and clear of mortages or lien.  Automobiles also must be donated in excellent working condition. Residents shall commit to 9 - 12 months of residency.  They are to seek employment beginning the second week after release, and will be eligible to purchase a vehicle from the Vineyard at the end of the 3rd month.  They are to be responsible for their own auto insurance; however, insurance payments must be paid to the Vineyard to be dispersed to the insurer until the vehicle is paid in full.  Proceeds from rents and purchase of vehicles will pay taxes, upkeep, utilities, and property insurance.  A tithe of 10% of gross proceeds will fund the in prison Texas HOPE Literacy programs.

 

GOVERNANCES: Residents will assist the Vineyard in setting policies and procedures for on-site living.  The Vineyard must approve recommendations.

           Year 1: The first 6 months two Resident Consultants will cover 24-hour shift 24-hour (8 hours each). The second 6 months Resident Consultants will on site from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. (12 hour shift).  Residents will manage day shift.

 

CLASSES: AIDS/HIV awareness, parenting, exercise nutrition, health awareness, substance abuse, Bible studies

 

MENTORS: Meet twice monthly with personal mentor

 

REQUIREMENTS:  Work, pay bills on time, purchase own vehicle, pay insurance, volunteer for The vineyard and HOPE, attend church of choice, pay grocery allowance at the second month, prepare own food, team sharing in maintenance of property.
